As I understand it, the mountains and fells of the Lake Country can be a turbulent mess. I like what you did, because it conveys the wild aspect of the scene. (I'm old enough to have read almost all of the Swallows and Amazons books, but the closest I got to the Lake was Scotland, some years ago).
