Abergwessin Common

The river Irfon begins life in the Cambrian Hills and, before tumbling down into the Irfon Valley where it flows into River Wye, it flows through Abergwesyn Common, a large U shaped glacial valley. This view is looking East (downstream) where it begins to widen and slow down, with large pools where locals often swim in the Summer. All comments gratefully received.

Great subject, Jon and I see you've already got a bunch of valuable advice. I also want to compliment your dedication and connection, maybe even obsession, with your local landscape! Really think that is a key element of your painting progress. You're absolutely nailing skies now, this one as superb as your last one. I think the river reflections are wonderful. Inspiring to sit by watch and one of the things I like about the forum! Looks like the photo has a bit of a yellow tint, but I kind of like the warmth it brought to the scene.
