One of Olly’s autumn shots
Thanks for posting your reference photos @Olly Pyle, they are beautiful. I have given one a go. If I was to list everything I think is wrong with it, it would make depressing reading. So instead I’ll focus on what I liked about it. It’s the first time I’ve painted a field that wasn’t just a flat green and has a bit of definition to it, that turned out vaguely similar to what I had in my head. The rest of the scene, not so much 😄.
So this is in the category of post your own work, even if it isn’t as good as when you follow a tutorial. One day, I hope to get as much enjoyment out of the finished piece as out of the creation!

You did try one of the most difficult indeed.
But it was also the one I would chosen.
And to be honest I would moved some things around to suit it more into my mindset.
This said, I think your watercolour is well made.
It might could be done with slightly more courage in shadows and trees.
But I am sure when you do this one in a few months time it will improve a lot, because you follow your own track with learned techniques! Thanks for sharing, nice to see this one!
