It is from a photograph from Joe Cartwright who is an online tutor like Oliver Pyle, it is Glenbrook Creek NSW. I have however added different rocks, sizes and colours as well as changed the background. I consider this my interpretation of the photograph. Joe encourages people to post their rendition of his examples. I’m not sure why it’s wrong to paint a photograph you’re inspired by. I have posted some of my other work as well. I have no idea if I’m good or not but as Edo said find your own style and don’t compare yourself to others. I’ve just started watercolour and am learning. It’s lovely to have received feedback from far more experienced painters especially in regards to the different techniques. Watercolour is tricky, far more challenging than oils or pastels. You need to think and plan very carefully. Thank you for your compliment next time I’ll say where my inspiration has come from, my own landscape photos or others.
