Another one of Olly's autumn shots
Hello,
I would like to share my interpretations of one photo Olly offered last week in Image sharing thread.
I got a series of 3 paintings. Each started with nice first washes, but I got really challenged by next layers. The most difficult task was giving a focal point to my paintings.

First, I tried to add a small tree... I overworked what looked so promising in the beginning.. So I gave it another try.

Second, idea to let the viewer look at the background trees through some more interesting foreground.

Third one.. there was nothing to Loose anymore... ;) So I went more abstract, used spraying.. Tried to make the tree a focal point.
What is my lesson? I remembered the words of Mr. Kees: 'If you don' t see your painting in the very beginning, you will not see it in the end' :)

Reference photo by @Olly Pyle . Thank you for it. I have never painted anything like those single small trees in the background, so they were kind of left unotinced.

Thank you, I feel similar about it. The third one was to relax and 'let go'. Was testing mixing of quinacridone gold with french ultramarin there, as others talked about it elsewhere.
