I like the idea, but for a misty Morning the warm colour in the background makes it come forward. Even it is a cool red. it will alwasy be warmer than a blue or violetlike colour. You have also used warm greens in the foreground so it makes the look of it a bit flat. Design wise the fence needs a gap, so you can enter the painting more in your mind. A cool watery glaze of cool green can help the background further away. It needs to be a translucent mix. glaces are never heavy! You can try on a scrap piece of paper which mix will be the best for your painting! Success, and thanks for posting, we all learn from this .
