We had dramatic weather on our fishing trip last week. I painted this this morning for sky practice. Not happy with the darkest part of the clouds and would have liked to keep more of the trees light green, but on the whole I feel that it kind of captures the mood of the day.
For me, you have captured the essence of good trout fishing: the uncertainty and trying to capture a moment when all the atmospheric elements come together, especially the light and shadows that trout exploit when they are feeding. I guess that it is probably difficult for a non-angler to "get" that perfect moment when you drop a fly at the edge of a shadow and it is taken by a trout. I like the varied greens and the sparkle in the riffles.
