A Slough along Lime Creek, Colorado

This is the third painting from our old pictures from 1985 while visiting the San Juan Mountains. Lime Creek was shallow and swampy at this location. I took the photo in late afternoon, with a storm on the horizon. Painted on Daler-Rowney Langford, using lots of Cadmium pigments-because no other colors can come near the intensity of these. The tree trunks are Holbein neutral tint.
