Lane down to the Mill

Before the 1930s mid Wales had a mixed economy based on a range of livestock (not just sheep as it is now) and growing fields of barley . The barley was ground into flour in watermills that were frequent along the upland, fast flowing rivers. Our local mill, now not much more than a few walls and a pile of stone, is at the bottom of this lane on the River Dulas. The river was straightened up river from the mill to speed the water flow to turn the wheel. Anyway I have tried to capture the winding lane and the trees on either side.
