Guardian of the basin

ree

This started as another sky exercise and morphed into an idea for a painting. A lone bison wanders through Biscuit Basin. A common occurrence in spring.

I would welcome thoughts and comments about how the composition might be improved. I'm not very good at that aspect, so it would be very helpful.

I do think I should lower the line of sight and make the river not as wide, and also not make the far meadow not as wide.

The background is a forested cliff, which I rendered totally vague so as not to draw attention. Did this work?

Thank you in advance for any comments.

Thank you John. I did follow up and darken that right hand group of trees, along with adding as you suggest some attachment to the ground. Good suggestion.
