Castlefield Manchester

I enjoy painting urban landscapes , not just rurality, so I hope this counts as a landscape! It's Castlefield in Manchester. The railway viaduct in the background is no longer used as such. The National Trust has taken it over and made an urban walk through garden up there which we visited first . My wife, two daughters and two grandsons are looking over into the canal lock. Urban landscapes will mostly have some figures in them. Th paper had curved slightly , hence the uneven white margins.

I disagree with previous speakers.. It is a great painting. To me : Rural landscapes lack depth, unless we are looking down a avenue.. The background is a big part of the view! Sides are blurred so the eyes are not drawn out from the painting.

I like! And beautiful bridge with interesting details!
