Down by the riverside

My first post to this form, which I'm really enjoying with all the great watercolours, and the helpful suggestions. This is a view from my backyard in Southern Ontario in October. I used a very limited palette of transparent colours just to see if it was possible. I wanted a vibrant painting. The colours I used are; Winsor Blue, Aureolin, Quin Gold and Brown Madder. Getting a good dark with these colours was challenging. I may do the painting again with a different set of colours.

Thanks for the comments, Jon. I did put in more blue in the river to make better contrast with the trees.
