Trying something a little different. Made this from a sketch late on a winter afternoon, I liked the tracery of the tree against the sky, and the shadow patterns on the field, and used few watercolour washes followed by Indian ink to try and emphasise those patterns. Would be interested in your thoughts, also, thought about putting a flock of birds in the sky just to the left of the gate, but decided against it, What do you think?

Very interesting painting. I like the combinations of black with the other colors and particularly the greenish sky, which I think adds a note of mistery. Last summer I visited the studio of an artist I know and took a photograph of a painting on a somewhat similar subject, and he did include a bird… I show it here even though the photograph is not very good due the reflections.
