Approaching rain over wheat stubble

Clumsy title I know. Anyway a couple of sketches and some photographs from last weekend in Shropshire, where I got very wet, has resulted in this picture. The landscape is so different to where I live with fields of wheat and field beans, huge oak trees and gently rolling hills. This was done on Arches CP which I thought I would try again. I am not sure that the grey sky has come out as expected - a bit grainy. I may try it again with a different sky. All comments appreciated.

Thanks for the explanation, I guess it comes down to style and that I dont have the patience to do anything other than random marks!
