Sunset at a swedish lake


Hallo Friends, i started to paint watercolor before a few week, all my pictures are too intense, too opaque. how can i get them more lucent, transparent and light and not so “painted“? The stones in the foreground i like most. Ist was fun to paint them in a negative way. A made three groundlayers with aureloin yellow, then rose madder genuine and last cobalt blue ( idea from Jeanne Dobie) and painted then the rest. Is it better to paint on white Paper? The trees first? How can i paint sunsets without getting them kitschy?

Thank you. When i paint the tutorials from Edo and Olly, i can paint very light like them, but when i work allone, the color got‘s strong. I am on the way …
