Pale morning sky - limited palette
I took the reference photo one morning earlier this year from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade looking west toward the rail port in Bayonne, NJ. Tried to do this almost as a tonal study…mostly shades of blue-grey from Cobalt blue and Brown madder. Added a touch of warmth toward the horizon with pyrole red.

Hi Patty,
Oh I do love this! Way to see! A coupla' questions: what if the vertcal lines (cranes on the docks? or smoke stacks?) were pointing up or towards Lady Lib, instead of away from her?
Or is that too obvious? Is the sky is the focal or is she? What if you left some of those verticals out or if this is recognizable, made them even more subtle? What if they had more lost edges as well as found like peeking out of fog rolling by? I'm not suggesting that would be better, just asking for fun?
