Marble
I have mainly painted outdoors this summer, which has been a great experience. But with autumn coming, I am slowly moving inside, trying to find something to paint among some photos. I also amused myself by using some old film cameras with BW film and, even if the process seems awkward compared with modern digital machines, I enjoy the haptics and slow tempo with my old mechanicals. I also find the absense of colour in a reference photo is a good thing, since I have to think up my own colour scheme for the painting. The clear values in the BW photo is also a great help.
I post a painting of the nearby stone factory. They produce mainly marble for floor tiles and kitchens from local quarries. Great shapes all around. Paper is 18x25cm Arches 300gsm rough. Comments are welcome as usual, especially suggestions on how I could aproach a new version technically, in order to make the background buildings less distinct, as I feel they are competing with the marble blocks in the front.

Thanks Edo. I might try that.
