Rocks at SandHarbor beach, Lake Tahoe

This subject is from a recent trip to Lake Tahoe. I wanted to capture the varying colors of water and paint the rocks under-water. Got carried away with painting water and didnt quite manage to get the value contrast on the trees correctly

Thank you Trevor. This is very valuable input. I was fixated on the value gradation in the trees but did not realise these two elements - making the hills cooler+paler and the foregroud rocks stronger could enhance this further. I will probably paint this subject again and will share in this forum
