A Medieval Farmhouse

We have had an extraordinary wet, cold and windy winter, with inspiration for painting landscapes on a very low level. I have tried to keep up my skills by painting exercises and still lifes, but that is not the same as getting outside with the paintbox. However, the other day I found some photos from an excursion last May to an old farmhouse museum and thought I should try my luck on one of the weathered facades. I wanted to capture the sense of light hitting the rightfacing wallstrips and the patterns of varying colour on the weathered limestone walls. All comments are most welcome!

I like this one a lot, Kerstin, superbly drawn and painted, great wall textures, and nice and loose shadows. Wow, this winter up north, right? We've had snowy and icy roads over here in Oslo since the start of November, and temperatures below zero all winter. Time to move back home to the south west, I think..
