Plein air or not ?!?!
I find myself very easy getting discouraged by plein air. I have been out a few days doing plein air without taking a photo first and the results were not good. To make my point, I will share the results that I think passable as painting/sketching of sort.
painting indoor from photo also portraits it's own challenges. I can't seem get the tonal value and color right. Or maybe my mood is not right. Sigh!
Plein air

Painting at home with rocks interpretation and mixing greens challenges. Maybe I should go back to basic on brush stroke and color mixing.

I like your pictures, the last one is so wonderful! You did a great job. When i paint outdoors, i take with me just a small palette, sketchbook , water tank brushes, a light chair, cause I don’t want to take heavy things with me. And I like my quick sketches often more than a lager picture at home. My sketches are like a little memory album, wich makes me happy and remembers me at the good time i had at this moment. They must not be perfect , they are my working book, just for me. And some pictures inspire me to do lager ones at home. Go out and get inspired by what you see, and feel and smell. It is the vital source of an artist.
