I started out attempting to paint a sunrise landscape in about 11X14 on Arches 140lb cold press. I wasn't crazy about it so after letting it sit for a couple of days I went back to see if I could "fix" it. I couldn't quite figure out if it was "fixable" and decided it just wasn't going to work. So, I took a 5X7 mat and began moving it around, looking at different parts of the painting, and decided that cropping it with the mat over this tree worked a lot better than the overall painting. So, instead of adding it to my growing discard pile, I now have a smaller 5X7 painting that I kinda like.
