The Journey is the Lesson
I started this painted with no expectations other than to focus on couple of concepts. I feel mediocre about the final outcome and I see a 100 things to improve in it. But more importantly I'm gaining confidence to put a painting together.
I live in a desert, there are no rolling green hills, not many trees or humidity but Ollie's lessons on chromatic perspective still apply. Did I achieve it?...eh..not really. I think I got the value correct but not the temperature. A lesson learned for next time.
I also spent some time thinking about the sequence of washes to tackle the alternating light and shadows. I lost my way a couple times but quickly regrouped and found I was less panicked during the process.
Thanks Ollie, et al. for your valuable and fabulous videos, I see myself improving with each painting.

Lovely very different 👌
