I'm very inspired lately and happy to paint a lot. This is a quick sketch of a ghost city in Dagestan. I visited it couple years ago - it is far up in the mountains. When I was there a huge flok of sheep from nearby aul went down the mountains like an avalanche. For a city girl like me that wad a cultural shock.

I know I did shadows darker than I'd like too, but I'm afraid to scrub them out, so ill leave it be. Also I dont know where the wierd highlight behind the rocks came from.

I did this sketch to try out Saunders Waterford block that I got. The block of paper wasn't glued to the cardboard underneath - is it supposed to be like that or is it damaged somehow?
