From Marta’s photo

More shrub/bush/tufty grass practice, using @Marta Stolarska ’s forest photo as inspiration (thank you Marta). I’ve been looking at various examples of foreground including paintings by @Howard Smith and @Jim White and I think I might have got somewhere (maybe 😄). I feel this wasn’t a bad attempt anyway.

@Edo, I also tried both looking at the photo, and painting, with my eyes half shut and I think it helped!

Great advice as usual Edo, and yes I do love the idea of a beautiful lie. All I would say in response is, I can only concentrate on one thing at a time 😆. This time I was fully absorbed with, how the heck do I paint a bush?? hopefully soon all these pieces will come together and I can use more than one bit of advice per painting.

in the meantime, please keep suggesting things, I promise it is going in at some level!!
