A local field

This is a field I pass every day which usually has sheep in and at this time of year lambs. This is a typical mid-Wales landscape where sheep outnumber people many times. The lambs often hide amongst the rushes and thistles in these fields so I though I would put a few of them in. They are not very conspicuous! Usual colours used (cobalt blue, paynes grey, raw sienna, transparent yellow, alizarin red, light red, burnt umber and ultramarine) on Saunders Waterford rough. All comments gratefully received.

Beautiful sky and trees, Jon. But I didn't realise until I read the text that there were sheep in the foreground (I thought they were stones). Even though the sheep were hidden in the grass, you could paint a few sheep standing up, for better readability, so that they can be recognised as such.
