Watercolour Sharing

St Lukes, Richmond Tasmania

I'm continuing to learn and practice watercolour. Trying to get in the habit of painting regularly, and sharing to hold myself to the habit! The below is my latest attempt. Much to improve still, but am pleased that I'm making some progress.

This is based on a photo I took on a trip to Tasmania years ago. While the church is the subject, much of what I'm working on currently is trees, so this was as much about trying to get different tree shapes and textures as it was about the building.

Any comments welcome!

I really like your sky! Can I ask..? Do you feel more relaxed when painting the sky as it more of an abstract part of a painting, then when it comes to trees and buildings you get more tensed as this is the realistic part? I ask because I can recognize my own paintings in your painting.

Try to vary your washes when painting trees. And same on the fasad. Gives more life and depth. Good for you!!!

And I shall try to follow my own advice!😅
