I was walking by the beach at Cape May Point, New Jersey a few years ago when a storm was blowing in at dawn. The pinks, grays and lavenders in the clouds were spectacular. I took a series of cell phone pictures and chose one to paint. The view is to the north along the edge the last reach of the Delaware River before it meets the Atlantic. The wind gusts were blowing the tops off the rain clouds that were forming. It was during high tide. A little paint leaked under the tape at the bottom, but that's what mats are for...

I used Daler-Rowney Prestige paper, various paints.
