In the Gallery

I visit my local Art Gallery in The Hague very often. This was during the Escher Exhibition that took place this year. I took some quick photos of pictures, but also found it interesting to take wider photos of the gallery itself. So this painting was derived from a tight crop of two figures in a more general photo - In case anyone is wondering - I wasn't standing directly behind them as that would be a bit of an infringement of their privacy of course.

Is it a landscape? Well the painting in the painting is of a fantastical 3 dimensional space, typical of Escher, and the two viewers in the painting as well as those here (I hope) are being drawn into it.

It's amazing how you can manage and recreate the details!
