Hot Press

Ive been trying out hot press paper for a challenge (arches 300gm). Its a completely different animal to cold press paper. I found I got the best results working on a fully soaked sheet of paper, one that I had immersed in a tray of water for 30 seconds or so. Then I built up layers of paint gradually and blended in any hard edges as I went. These paintings are all A4 in size, no white margins.

I really like your 3 paintings - each one has something special and shows off the vastness of your country very well. I still have a few blocks of hot-pressed paper lying unused in my cupboard. Painting on this paper isn't exactly easy, but I think you've found a very good solution to deal with it. Well done!
