Lesson in tones and Hue's

I made a demo to learn how to make a watercolour with just two pigments. I made it myself difficult here to use two dark tones.

Sepia and Indigo

If you like to make this one too, you can use an easier combo like Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna, or Cobalt Blue and Light red. A difficult combo of pigments would be purple, like Mineral Violet and Raw sienna. But succes! Love to see your efforts. The place is called Ransdorp. A little village above Amsterdam. A good thing to do, is turn your photo that you are going to paint in B&W

The Simple Sketch

The First pale and wet layer. leave some whites especially the focal pont(The Church) No details.

Paint the mid tones. No details here yet!

Now you can go loose on the details! And yes I used Chinese White here. A lot of rigger work too!

Have fun Regards Edo
