Rocks in water
Hi everyone!
This is my first post here for a while. I am slowly getting back into watercolour after a period of drawing, mainly in charcoal (yes, Edo, it's messy, but manageable if you don't blow it around). This time I focused on a very common subject around where I live. Rocks come in all sizes, shapes and colours and are great for practicing form shadows. I painted this view first on site, but I also took some photos, so could try again at home. Since I have a tendency to overwork details maybe that was not such a great idea. If anyone has more experience from painting views through water, I would be very interested if you would share how you go about it. Any other comments are of course always welcome.

As I don't have much experience in painting views trough water, I comment as I think it should be: I would warm up, just very slightly the sand in the foreground (here and there) and make the contours of the underwater rocks more sharp (of the nearest rocks!) - but just in some points, not everywhere! Maybe, varying the light hitting the foreground water, with some lighter values, in some places and some distortions of the foreground rocks could help to show the slightly movement of the water, even if it's still. The underwater rocks are painted a little bit evenly...
I hope I didn't confuse you, that's just how I'd approach it...
