From a photo I took in a forest nearby. I loved the contrast between the rough broken muddy sand and the smooth soft reflection in the puddle.

This is a beautiful piece of painting and I think it can stand as is without the embellishment of sand colour unless you want realism. I really like the contrast between the gorgeous colours in the reflection and the cool quietness of the surrounds.
