Heathland in East Netherlands
I made a small cycle trip through the east of the country, exploring a national park called the Sallandse Heuvelrug, painting plein air as I went. I plan to do this more often.

I am studying your paintings to see how you achieved the ease of depth in both.. In the first painting, my eves enjoy not only the road and the sky that contribute to depth, but also the circle made by the four main trees, going from front right of the road to left to center, then to the far right and back to the first tree again. So I like the far right tree the way it is, and fear it might change the circular dance if you soften it. Something I often wonder about is,: do you have a focal point, or several in these paintings? Do you think it is necessary to have a focal point in a landscape painting? Thank you for sharing. Joyce
