Two views from Weston beach

These two pictures are of Weston beach, the first looking towards the North, with Birnbeck pier (known as the Old Pier) in the distance. This was built on Birnbeck Island in the 1860s and as children in the 1960s we scoured the beach underneath the walkway for pennies (the big old ones) that had dropped through the boards above! The second is a view across the Severn Estuary with Cardiff and Newport in the hazy distance. The two islands are Steep Holm and Flat Holm. There are good bits and not so good bits in both I think. Comments gratefully received.

Nice watercolours Jon. I think from the two I like also nr 1 better. The second is 3 brush strokes of a to massive pigment. The second one have a more airy sky. And makes it lighter. The second is for me that sky and watercolour don't form a harmonious marriage. But for both I can give you the hint of make the pole or something slightly longer so it slice above the horizon. It pulls the two parts together.
