London landscape

Looking towards London’s Canary Wharf. A pen and watercolour painting.

Staedtler pens and Schmincke paints on 30cm square Arches cold pressed.

I only used 5 colours. Prussian blue, Paynes grey blueish, yellow ochre, sepia brown and English Venetian red.

I enjoyed this one and compositionly I love the fact that the rail bridge severs the new from the older part of the City, the white flashes at the edge of the station canopy roof also reminds me of the rhythm made by older trains on traditional tracks (I.e not welded).

Yes. Nice contrast between the beautifully ageing wood and rusty iron, and the grey steel and glass of modern times.
