Have been lurking a long time
I have been enjoying this forum for quite a while but never had the courage to post any of my own paintings. This is a view from the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve in San Luis Obispo County, CA. I started learning watercolor 2 years ago and regard each painting as a learning experience rather than a possible masterpiece. I give each one a BP (Bad Painting) number. It is encouraging to look back through them and see my progress. This is BP #72. All critiques are welcome as I hope they help me continue to improve.

I agree that some softer edges would benefit. It looks like you are mainly putting wet paint on paper that has already dried which misses out on that soft, fluid look of watercolor. Like Oliver shows in many of his tutorial videos, you can rewet an area that has already dried with clear water and a soft brush so you aren't disturbing the paint layer underneath, and when the paper is damp drop in your details such as shadows, brush, flowers, etc. I've learned a ton from Oliver on this point but of course it is hard to master! It's all about the process of building up the painting once you've laid down the initial flat washes.
