This is my second attempt, and as well as the photo reference, I've included my first attempt, where I focused on practising a dramatic sky. My approach to this one was to practise a "simple" summer sky, trying to make the scene calmer, more true to the actual experience. And lo and behold, no green sky in sight! I think the scale of the boats is much better now, but as usual I fiddle too much with trees and bushes, instead of focusing on shapes, clean washes. The distant headland on the left should also probably be cooler. Well, I think it's progress, after all! Would love to hear what you think, and don't hold back - I'm here to learn!
