View of Boston
Working duties have made it difficult for me to devote much time to painting during the last few months (I see that my last post is from May). Now I am on vacation and I am trying to catch up. I did not bring my watercolour set up with me so I have used some cheap Royal Tanlens tubes that my daughter had bought some time ago. I got three brushes from a Chinese bazar for 1.80 euros which behave surprisingly well in relative terms. As for the paper, I bought a block of 300 g, 18 x 24 cm paper in a kid's shop from the Danish chain Tiger, and for the prize I paid (5 euros), it behaves much better than expected.
The painting is taken from a photograph that I took a few years ago from the apartment of a friend in Boston. In the foreground, the Charles River, and on the opposite side the buildings of the city centre and the Massachusetts General Hospital on the first row.
I have taken some liberties in the positioning and shape of some of the buildings, but I think the identity of the place is preserved.
Comments welcome.
