Elements of landscapes

As much as I like to paint different landscapes, that is, an overall view of trees, rocks, rolling hills, etc., sometimes I like to focus on painting details of the view before me. I especially like to paint smaller elements of what I see, such as my post from last year titled "Ducks belong in the landscape". I think a bird with an interesting pose or a close look at few items found along a path have value as landscape as much as a sweeping vista. So, my question is simply, do these smaller details fall into the category of landscape painting? How do other members feel about this? I would like to display them , but don't know how the forum participants would react to such paintings. I work from my own photographs or sketches for the most part. Can we open a discussion? Thanks.

Now that this discussion is started, I feel a bit guilty about my post "In the middle of the day". Yet, there are other elements that compete and complete the landscape and I think, generally, the beings can emphasize places, create atmosphere, tell a story, if not too detailed!
