Paint along Vids and copying.

ree

Hello everyone, we are very happy with so many members.

We notice only a few post their work.

I don't know if someone doesn't post because they're afraid of not being good enough. Or that they are afraid of my criticism being too Dutch? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I mean it all well. and there is nothing I would rather see, than all good watercolourists.

We also found out that aspiring painters like to post paintings from paint alongย videos.

If you want to do that, you can do so on your own platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

We'd rather not have it on this forum. Partly because we cannot see how good you actually are with watercolor painting.

Painting with a painter who plans everything in advance is of course very easy, and you often achieve better results than if you had to think of everything yourself. It would also be better NOT to paint, but to study the techniques very carefully. And use these techniques in your own subjects.

You will progress faster in your painting skills. And you are no longer dependent on the often expensive courses.

And I'm not talking about the individual artists, such as Oliver Pyle or Peter Cronin. These artists are honest in their teaching. But more those providers who promise that you can reach the master level in 6 months. It just takes a long time to master watercolor painting.

So please don't post copies on the forum. but your own work. I painted the picture above around the year 1998 I learned a lot from it, and yet I never posted it anywhere as something I achieved. Looking back it is better I did not, because it lacks on skills and fluidity. What I did, I took the techniques, and implied them in my own work. Nowadays I don't even have to paint a copy, I see the techniques, and just try to paint those.

Thank you

Hi Edo, is transparent iron oxide comparable to burnt sienna? I found red and yellow iron oxide from Daniel Smith and M. Graham, very expensive pigment. From Maimeri haven't found this colour.
