Daler Artist Range

Hello, I hope everyone is well.

I’m a beginner in watercolour and discovered Oliver’s work quite recently. I absolutely love his style and colour palette and would like to aspire to these levels … say in 30 years time perhaps? 😊

I’m at the stage now where I want to improve my materials to 100% cotton paper and professional grade paints.

I have been using the Aquafine range and I do like them so my first thoughts were to go for the Daler Artist range.

When I started to look around I found they seem not as commonly available as some other professional ranges.

I can see they are at Jackson’s, using Oliver’s affiliate link, (which is great) but interestingly they seem to be missing from many other outlets.

Having a discussion in a watercolour Facebook group someone suggested that they have been taken over and they are phasing out the Daler Artist range.

Does anybody know if this is true?

Shall I just go for another manufacturers professional grade instead?

I don’t really want to start getting used to a particular brand if it is being phased out shortly.

What are your thoughts on the Daler Artist range, if you use them?

Thanks for your time

Greg.

That's unfortunate as I just started using some of the DR artist range. I really like their Ultramarine because it doesn't granulate much and it mixes smoothly with other paints. I'm in America and had to get them shipped from England which takes about 2 weeks. I figure I will just keep trying new brands when the paint runs out until I can settle on something I like that is also readily available.
