The Art of the Limited Palette

This lengthy video interview and Q & A featuring Hazel Soan was just put up this evening and I happened upon it by accident. You may not particularly enjoy Hazel Soan's style, but I found the information in this presentation to be so interesting and helpful, if only as a reminder for the more experienced! It's chocked full of information and examples about color theory and mixing, especially using triads. So I thought I would share it with all of you. The beginners may find it particularly valuable.

I guess it's all right to share it here. I felt so because we have a thread about watercolor book by many authors. Please let me know if it's okay or if it should be moved to another category.

Enjoy!

Hi everyone! Thanks a lot, @Grainne, for the heads up on this wonderful artist. I was so happy to learn about her new book, since I have a few of the earlier titles and really appreciate her approach. Scientific and creative in a very nice combo. The video is full of good stuff and also a joy to watch.

Actually it was another video that once set my focus on to Soan : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVUlzxl43O0. Here she is actually painting and showing some amazing mixing of paint on the paper, resulting in the most lovely African animals. If you need inspiration on exploring colour without stacking up heaps of paper with swatches, this is the way to gošŸ˜‰

And yes @Marco , I also ordered the new book. Will clean up my palette now!
