Runbacks and cauliflowers.
It is not a real landscape, so I'm not posting it in Image Sharing. Thought I won't post it here at all, but I have a questions.
I'm always getting quite sad when I'm getting a cauliflower when I didn't expect it at all. And this time around I had an abnormal amount of them. I tried to save it, but I still see them. Are they noticeable?

Could it be because I am working on the watercolor block? Arches, 31x41. And, honestly, its already mostly falling apart on several layers (I guess I take bad care of it).
And main question - what do you do when you get a runback? Can it be quickly fixed with paper towel or dry brush? Do you check how wet the paper is even if you work really fast?

Getting a cauliflower on Arches is very difficult, but it is possible to get them. Just make sure that your brush is dryer than the wash on the paper. If your brush is wetter than the wash on the paper you get a cauliflower. It is just water that push the pigment away. If you see that you get one, take a bone dry Hake brush and wipe soft over the area. the Hake wil get the excess moisture in the goathair, and the cauliflower is stopped. Could be that the area is lighter. But you can paint over that. (after drying) See my rescue here on you tube Look from the 32 minute mark. https://youtu.be/3wp8eXW0oaY
