For this painting I made some changes in comparison to the photograph. We as painters have that liberty. I decided to bring in some light. I also wished to move the dinghy on the left onto the mainland so as to create an opening to the bay where the ships lay at anchor. In my opinion this leads the viewers eye into the scene.
