November in Mecklemburg Vorpommern

I have been admiring Oliver's art for about 2 years and watch his videos with enthusiasm. And I learn a lot from him. Now I felt inspired by the Challenge 2024 and dared to publish a picture among β€œlike-minded people”.

I took this photo at the beginning of November 2 years ago on the Stettiner Haff (Szczecin Lagoon; Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, region Β near the Baltic Sea). My son was amused: β€œOh a lighthouse in the forest”, but I really like the trio 'reed-lighthouse-tree' with the autumnal colors. However, I'm afraid that in my watercolor version the three will compete with each other.

Thanks so much h for sharing this. It is such an interesting scene, and not an easy one to paint. I would have kept the background immediately behind the lighthouse almost devoid of detail, so that the building would pop out a little more. The foreground area is painted beautifully, as indeed are the background trees - you have achieved a perfect balance between detail and suggestion, which is not easy to achieve. Keep up the good work - you've captured the moment here, for sure! I'm intrigued by the inland lighthouse too....I assume this is right on the edge of the lagoon?
