How much thought do you give to your "style"?

When I am browsing for images of watercolor paintings, their are certain artists I instantly recognize because they have a consistent style. It may be subject matter, color palette, treatment of detail, whatever - but some artists have very recognizable work. Oliver's work is that way - his work is very easy to recognize. I have been painting for a few years and have not settled on a style yet and it bugs me! I am wondering - how much thought do you give to your style? Is developing a style as easy as learning to focus?

I can say that sometimes my Muse is *insistent* that I paint a certain subject. By the time I've drawn it out, I know it will be beautiful. It's as if she knows what she's doing and how to get there; I just move the paintbrush.

These paintings have, without exception, turned out beautiful.

I believe she comes from my heart somehow. And you can't go wrong when you paint from the heart.
