What is a good way to store unframed paintings in a compact space that keeps them flat, accessible, and protects their surface. Personally I have no system yet, only a wobbly stack sitting open on a closet shelf.

I purchased acid-free tissue paper from Amazon, then place my paintings in a large bin layering them with tissues paper in between. The acid-free paper preserves the color from fading and putting them in the bin away from light protects and preserves them too.
