Stretching issues

Hi All, I’m new to the forum so gentle please. I’ve an issue that happens occasionally, I stretch my paper and when removing from my board it has ‘cemented’ itself down. I always wash my boards before stretching to make sure they are clean and allow to dry and I use the stretching method as described by Oliver in his paper stretching video, this issue is not consistent either, only happens occasionally. This gluing down happens centrally normally and I think it might be under the part of the painting that I have repeatedly wetted. I am assuming the repeated wetting has activated the size in the paper, which is Arches 140lb, but when googling this issue there doesn’t seem to be others experiencing this problem. The boards I use are ply that my husband gets from wood merchants and cuts to size for me, would these be the issue? Any feedback would be great, how can I prevent this and what is the best way to unstick a painting?

I only seal the edges to prolong the boards life but probably not necessary with marine ply. I guess the only way to find out the difference is to seal a side of one of my boards - fortunately I have a few boards so one side on one of them is no loss if I'm unhappy with the result but it sounds as if it may be an improvement from your experience..
