Sit or stand?
I am very much a beginner and paint in a sitting position at a small area on a table. I recently became aware that some artists prefer to stand. I wonder now whether many of you have a real preference and the reasons behind the choice each has made. Does it have anything to do with the size of the paper? (I have never done anything larger than 9 x 12 inches [23x31 cm]). Does a standing position change the hold on the brush or require movement of the arm rather than just the hand and wrist?

Of necessity, I do have to sit quite often (back problems). But standing helps me see the work better. Sitting can alter the angle of view more than standing, so one tip I have learned is to prop the value sketch or drawing from which I am working at the same angle as the watercolor paper.
