How are you getting inspired for your paintings?

I am wondering how you are getting inspired for your paintings? Especially in winter, I am struggling to find ideas of what to paint. The days are short and often rainy and windy. So, I am painting a lot of things out of fantasy. Sure, there might be some nice, almost monochromatic winter colors like this:

Some of you are making a beautiful painting out of something I would not even consider looking closer at. So, I probably miss the scene because of lacking experiences. Others are painting so exactly from photos - maybe I do not have that good ones, but I would change things. Has someone tried Stable Diffusion to generate ideas? Quite impressive if you give it enough tries.

Olly recently made an interesting video about this topic. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJEYFEzumQc&pp=ygULT2xpdmVyIHB5bGU%3D

Edo had this interesting thread, when he was inspired, but did not have the proper skills. I'm wondering if he felt more purple on the first try, and remembered it differently because of the photo? https://www.oliverpyle.com/forum/general-discussion/skills-on-texel?origin=member_posts_page

Paul inspired me to this painting, when he painted getting stuck at a train station at night. I would never have thought about painting, while waiting on a dark and windy train station. This is my usual way home, and luckily I can go by bike. I probably messed a bit with the shadows (suggestions are welcome). But at least I had an idea - after passing this place for many years. So the theme might be close.

Maimeri: looks great. I should look out for them next time I consider buying new colors. Thank you very much! Of course, you had much better technic on the later ones. It is a strong contrast between violet and yellow ocher. It probably depends on taste 😀 and what you want to say / feel. But OK, it was chosen because of lack of knowledge. I remember I painted violet and blue fruits in school 😂. And that was intentionally.
